Children’s Daily Routine & Programme:

 

8.15am:

Children are welcomed and settled into activities.

A wide variety of activities are available for the children to allow them to follow their own interests with guidance from the Teachers.

 

9.00am – Mat-time:

 Welcome, Karakia Timatanga, Introductions, Pōwhiri, News/happenings for the day, Roll call, waiata etc.

 

9.20-9.45am:

All children and teachers participate in group physical activity /fitness outdoors if possible.(either School grounds or Preschool courts area)

 

9.45-10.00am – Whakapai Kai.

 Set morning tea time for all children and teachers.

 

10.15am-1.15pm:

Children participate in variety of activities, both planned and spontaneous, during this time learning experiences individually as well as in groups.

Teacher-initiated activities will also be provided at this time.

 

11.15-11.45am –Pukeko Group time

oldest 8 children group. Inquiry groups/Floor book activity,

 

11.45-12.30pm – lunchtime in two groups & Korero Mai:

All children have lunch in two groups – one group shares News on a rostered basis while other group eats lunch, then swap. – News groups  are Green Geckos and Blue penguins

1.30-2.15pm -Small group activities:

Small group activities e.g. Nature walk group follow up/preps

Or physical activity

 

Followed by tidy up time at 2.20pm-ish.

 

2.00pm – 2.45pm:

Mat time for all children, farewell children and families

 

Sun block applied twice daily between October–April, approx.. 9.45 & 1.00pm, then October -April as per CS website advice
